On your mobile device, you may use the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting (on iOS devices) or a setting to “Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” (on Android) which allows you to limit the use of information about your use of apps for purposes of serving ads targeted to your interests.
Limit Ad Tracking” setting (on iOS devices)
Every iOS device comes with an identifier that allows developers and marketers to track activity for advertising purposes. It may be used by advertisers to run remarketing campaigns and record purchasing or downloading conversions.
With the release of iOS6, the Unique Device Identifier (UDID) is replaced by the Identifier for Advertising (IDFA).
The IDFA has two key features:
Limit ad tracking (LAT) is a feature allowing users to opt-out of having an ID for Advertisers (IDFA). With this setting enabled, the user’s IDFA appears blank when tracked. This means they won’t see specific ads targeted at them because, as far as networks see, the device has no identity.
Attribution and conversion events (among other features) are switched off when LAT is switched on (though not quite with Adjust, as you can find out below).
If you want to opt out of interest-based ads, you can choose to turn on the Limit Ad Tracking setting on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Turn on Limit Ad Tracking on multiple devices to opt out of ads targeted towards your interests.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
On your Mac
Open System Preferences and click Security & Privacy.
Setting to “Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” (on Android)
Here's how to opt out of interest-based advertising on your Android device to improve anonymity on your smartphone or tablet:

Internet Advertising
Certain targeted advertisements that we (or a service provider acting on our behalf) display to you based on information about your online activities across websites and other interactive properties operated by third parties may include the “Ad Choices” icon or another mechanism to opt out of receiving interest-based advertisements.
• Click on the AdChoices icon or visit AboutAds.info to receive more information about the collection and use of information about your online activities for interest based advertising or to learn how to opt out of having your data used for interest based advertising by Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) participating companies.
• Visit NAI Consumer Opt Out to learn how to opt out from the use of information about your online activities for interest based advertising by NAI member companies.
• Visit The Canadian AdChoices Program if you live in Canada
• Visit Your Online Choices | EDAA if you live in Europe
We may collect data through sites to show you interest-based advertising, which enables advertisers to reach users based on their interests and demographics (e.g., "concert goers"). We believe interest-based ads are more relevant to users and therefore provide a better experience. However, you can express a preference not to receive interest-based ads by clicking on the opt-out button below. Once opted out, we will no longer be able to serve interest-based advertising to your browser.
